Founded in 2019, RHRI is a free asylum clinic affiliated with the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry. With the support of our dedicated student and physician volunteers, RHRI has served over many asylum seekers across New York state and throughout the United States. We serve asylum seekers who would benefit from a medical affidavit, free of charge.

Asylum medicine is a field comprised of clinicians who conduct medical and mental health forensic evaluations of asylum seekers, and the educational, advocacy, and scholarly work that they perform. The Society of Asylum Medicine provides resources and promotes community and interaction among professionals involved in asylum medicine.
